School Support

Kaimes Special School

Supporting young people with Autism to build confidence & self-esteem.

Socialising in groups can be difficult so time away from school is often spent alone. That’s why a BBC Children in Need funded ski club is so important to the boys and girls at Kaimes Special School in Edinburgh.

They visit a dry ski slope outside the city every Friday after school to help children with autism or ASD to be more confident, to have fun, and learn how to cope with accessing activities along with other children and the general public. It gives them all the opportunity to relax with their school friends, learn a new skill and participate in a healthy outdoor sport.
