I own my performance.

The main reason I signed up for Tour de Pudsey was that I was heavily involved in BBC Children in Need in my previous branch in 2015 raising over £4,000 through various fundraising events from cake sales to The Bay City Bankers dress down day (the entire branch dressed up as the Bay City Rollers!)
The fact that I am an amateur road cyclist also helped sway the decision for me to apply as my best friend outside of work is also doing the ride (Billy Brown) so this is an added bonus as we have ridden together for the past three years. I have been road cycling on and off for the past two and a half years averaging about 30 - 35 miles per ride therefore the 3 x 100 mile rides were another key factor in me taking on board this challenge as we are all trying to be fitter but by getting accepted for this challenge it forces me to do more rides and I have stepped up my ride distance.
The thing I am most looking forward to is the camaraderie of riding with a team of 20 riders all of which I have got to know a little bit recently and the team has been great in sharing new ideas, training rides and most of all having some great fun. I have recently done a 103 mile ride with a group of 13 people and aside from the tiredness and sore knee it was lots of fun at times and no doubt we will drag each other around the routes at various times so a good spirit is crucial to a team ride and I am looking forward to this the most!
