Team Cardiff

Rob Hamblett

A great mixture of charity fundraising, sport and team spirit.

In 2012 I applied to take part in the Coast 2 Coast, cycling one side of Costa Rica to the other. Unfortunately I wasn’t successful at the time, but that’s when I bought my first road bike and started really enjoying cycling. Since then, I’ve kept an eye out for opportunities to use sport to raise money for charity and stepped into the ring for my first ever charity boxing match last year, raising over £2,500 for Anthony Nolan.

I decided to apply to the Tour de Pudsey because it was a great mixture of charity fundraising and sport, but it also adds the team element, which is something I haven’t had before. I’m really looking forward to bonding as a team and getting from Cardiff to Pudsey as one unit.
