Carolyn Edwards of Genie In The Gutter in Liverpool took home the second prize of £6,000 at the ceremony award of the Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2016.

Carolyn is the founder of Genie In The Gutter. This Liverpool-based not-for-profit is a bridge-to-recovery service providing informed choices around drug and alcohol treatment to active substance misusers committed to exploring recovery options.

Genie In The Gutter is a small organisation making a big impact on the lives of the people it works with and the wider community. It offers an extensive schedule of recovery, creative and performance based sessions. It also works with clients on a 1:1 basis, which includes close partnership work with wrap-around services, such as training, education, health and housing. Genie in the Gutter was founded in 2008.
